Six guests, only one arrangement that works.

A real wedding from the app, playable here. The couple has already placed two cards, you seat the other four. Each must-have tells you live whether it's met.

Watercolour: Uncle and Mother-in-law sitting back to back at a wedding table, arms crossed
Uncle must not sit next to Mother-in-law.None of these people exist. That's the whole point.

Lina & Nathan

  • To seat: 4
  • Must-haves: 0 of 4

Colleague Thibault is in hand: tap a free seat, or another card to swap.

What the family demands

  1. Little Lucas and Great-uncle Albert are secretly writing a speech: they must sit side by side.Waiting
  2. Colleague Thibault and Great-uncle Albert are inseparable: side by side, please.Waiting
  3. Colleague Thibault always steals Little Rose's bread: certainly not on the next chair.Waiting
  4. Auntie Monique wants Great-uncle Albert right opposite, to clink glasses.Waiting

Pin: a card placed by the couple, it doesn't move.

Next to: the neighbouring chair. Opposite: the chair straight across the table. Seats are numbered clockwise.

Forty weddings, three seasons

Each wedding has only one solution. Two weddings ahead always stay open: the one that resists doesn't block the rest.

  1. Watercolour: six guests at a round table under an olive tree

    10 weddings

    The engagement

One round table, six guests, the first sensitivities.

  2. Watercolour: a cocktail hour in the grounds of a château

    15 weddings

    The cocktail hour

Two tables, twelve guests and some face-offs.

  3. Watercolour: a large festive reception hall with a full dance floor

    15 weddings

    The grand reception

Three tables, twenty guests, the whole family.

What brings you back

  • Watercolour: three sugared almonds in a square of tulle tied with a burgundy ribbon

    Three sugared almonds per wedding

One for solving the wedding, one if the room was never filled the wrong way, one if you took no hint.

  • Watercolour: a grandmother whispering advice, her hand beside her mouth

    A hint in three stages

First where to look, then the reasoning explained, finally the card put in its seat. Stop whenever you like.

  • Watercolour: a gust swirls cards and petals above a table

    The Gust of wind mini-game

A gust can scramble a solved wedding. Here you only swap cards, and the goal is the smallest number of swaps.

  • Watercolour: Granny Lucette and Uncle Gérard at the rehearsal dinner table

    The rehearsal dinner

Learn by playing: a real table of four in “How it works”, with Granny Lucette telling you what to do at every moment.

Nothing imaginary here

Your seating plan, in four steps.

Up to 150 guests and 20 tables per reception. The app guides you from one step to the next and always tells you what's left to do. No need to have touched the Game.

  1. Guests

Import the list from your spreadsheet (a CSV file, one line per guest) or add them one by one, with their group, child or not, and diet.

Screenshot: the Guests step of a reception
  2. Tables

Round or rectangular, from 2 to 20 seats. The app counts the missing chairs and offers to add the tables of 10 you need in one gesture.

Screenshot: the Tables step of a reception
  3. Wishes

Optional. A must-have is always met: next to, not next to, opposite, same table, different tables, at a given table. A wish is granted if possible: a little, a lot or passionately.

Screenshot: the Wishes step, with must-haves and wishes
  4. Plan

“Suggest a plan” seats everyone in an instant. Each table shows its status as a thumbnail. Fine-tune by tap or drag and drop: two guests swap seats.

Screenshot: the Plan step, tables as thumbnails with their status

Who's badly placed?

A heart next to every name, based on their wishes. No more rereading a hundred lines to find Uncle.

  • delighted Their wishes are granted.
  • lukewarm Only some of them: one swap may be enough.
  • unhappy Their wishes aren't met: worth another look.

When it's impossible, the app says so

Uncle Gérard and Mother-in-law, at the same table and at different tables? The plan explains it above the tables. It also spots the over-requested table, the party too big for any table, and missing chairs.

Turning a must-have into a wish is often all it takes.

So it isn't all left to the night before
